The Belle Stalker

I'm giving this book 5 stars, due to the writing, the flow of the book, and it keeping your attention. I would reccomend this book to anyone looking for an urban thriller/paranormal type.

Minnette pulls you into a world that seems normal but not everything is as it should be. Belle has had a stalker since her father's death, she keeps getting cards that have put her on edge, with no prints or any clue who their from, but she knows its the same man who killed her father. Minnette makes you fall in love with Belle when you first meet her. Yes, she has her problems, but considering what she's been through, it makes sense. Then she comes home, to find her boyfriend dead, hunched over her couch with blood everywhere and another note. We meet Mike Cranston, Belle's ex-husband, charmer and an excellent homicide detective. He picks up things no one else can, and he thought he'd seen it all till he gets the case linking to his ex-wife. He didn't want it, but his old partner requested him for it, and his boss is ordering it. Mike is fun, loving, sarcastic kind of guy, a real hero and still in love with Belle. Then there's Tequelin, crazy sociopath killer, but he's fair from normal. He has an addicting hate and love for Belle, she does something to him that brings calmness to his anger yet stirs up lust. He hates her because she is human, and he has been driven insane by being with them for too long. Belle still loves Mike, and slowly realizes that after a while in the book, even though she tried to escape it, she can't. She tries to save Mike from getting hurt by Tequelin when she's kidnapped and Mike goes after her. The trip takes them all the way to wales, which is pretty long way from Portland. I love the characters even Mallory, Mike's ex-partner now partner again. The book flowed wonderfully and the transformation Belle takes through finding her strengths, weakness, and physical changes too is awesome. Everything is detailed just right, and even though there is a lot going on in the book, it comes together nicely. In the end, Belle gets back with Mike with some perks, and Tequilen finally gets to rest in piece. He's a scary bad guy, and you want him dead. You also want Mike to beat Tequilen even though Tequilen is more powerful. Minnette does a great job in writing him and getting into his head done. She makes you hate him, and yet feeling sorry for him at the same time once you see more into his story. You go through so many different emotions as you go through the book you won't be able to put it down.
